WHAT IS RESTYLANE MADE OF?

Made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid, Restylane is a natural substance that can be found in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a clear gel called Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, which is biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.

IS RESTYLANE PAINFUL?

Restylane injections are not typically painful. However, some patients may experience some minimal discomfort. A local anesthetic can be used to prevent pain.

WHAT CAN RESTYLANE REDUCE OR ELIMINATE?

There are a number of flaws that Restylane may be able to reduce or even completely eliminate. These include vertical lip lines, lines at the corner of the mouth, folds that run from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth, and acne scars. Restylane is not appropriate for treating “dynamic” wrinkles like crows’ feet or frown lines. These are better addressed with Botox or similar treatments.

HOW LONG DOES RESTYLANE LAST?

While Restylane does lead to long-lasting results, these fillers do not last forever. Most patients return to Doctors Plastic Surgery every six to twelve months for additional injections. Factors such as their age, lifestyle, and skin tone will all determine how long each injection lasts.

WHAT AREAS CAN RESTYLANE TREAT?

Most patients undergo Restylane treatment to smooth out wrinkles and soften facial lines. However, Restylane can also be used to add subtle volume to your lips, cheeks, and jawline as well.

WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE AFTER RESTYLANE TREATMENT?

Right after treatment, you may notice some redness and swelling, which should fade within a few days. You will find that you look fresher and more rejuvenated. Large folds will be smoother and fine lines and wrinkles won’t be as noticeable.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE EFFECTS OF RESTYLANE WEAR OFF?

Once the effects of Restylane wear off in six to twelve months, you can expect to look like you did prior to treatment. Restylane does not worsen lines and wrinkles or make you appear older.

RESTYLANE LYFT

Restylane Lyft has the largest particles of all the Restylane brand fillers. This treatment comes in gel form and can effectively resolve deep lines, wrinkles, and fold. It can also be used to add fullness to the lips and is injected into a deep layer of the patient’s skin.

RESTYLANE DEFYNE

Restylane Defyne is a firm dermal filler, making it ideal for facial folds and lines that are very deep. It is intended to be injected into the mid to deep dermis. Once it has been injected into the appropriate area, Restylane Defyne can be contoured to naturally mold to the patient’s surrounding tissue. This filler can be used to achieve very specific results.

RESTYLANE REFYNE

Although Restylane Refyne is similar to Restylane Defyne, it is a bit more flexible and better for treating moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. Our surgeons suggest Restylane Refyne for folds and wrinkles that are superficial.
